Mom's Roles - Daughter, Teacher & Fight Attendant - all mentioned by others - Wife and Mother - Married in 1946 4 children in 9 years Active in our Scouting activities as troop leaders and as the GS European representative. Continued teaching career through her children, taught us: - values - what is important in life - Manners/etiquette & hosting through family meals and entertaining - Geography - through our and Mom & Dad's many travels, stopping at road side signs on the way. - importance of and love of family - annual visits to the Thorntons and Klickmans in Ohio - independence and self reliance - by her example of starting over each time the family moved. - Education - key to success in life - a belief shared by Mom and Dad - Homemaker - making a comfort- able place for all of us to grow up and return to with our children - Return to Teaching - - Masters from U of A - Taught Gifted Children at Vestavia Elementary - Taught as a guidance counselor at Brookwood HS - She enjoyed these roles tremen- dously - meeting students, parents and fellow teachers. - Retired - new roles as a volunteer @ Hospice into her 90's A Poll worker in elections A Meals on Wheels delivery person Children's Hands On Museum - Friend - many friends she met through travel, she traveled with, she volunteered with or worked with through the years. Throughout all of these roles she was a church member - for more than 50 years here at St Mark's. She truly enjoyed the worship, Sunday School Class, fellowship here and the love that you all shared with her especially in her last years. Thank you for sharing her life with us.
